We train in a traditional, hard-style karate called Shotokan. The Karate Team trains year-round, with general classes three times each week, and an additional competition class once each week. Updates on the Team's training and competition is posted on the blog www.cedarridgeacademykarate.blogspot.com. Students on the team commit to training with the goal of achieving their black belt in this disciplined martial art.

Cedar Ridge Academy Coed Boarding School competes in Utah's Jazz League every winter. Last year, our boys' team went undefeated for 20 games, attesting to the coaching experience and strategy of Wes Nielson, our Dean of Residential Life. The next season begins January 2011, and the boys look forward to another competitive series of games. The team practices a minimum of twice each week, and some of the boys also play on Cedar Ridge Academy's men's team for additional experience.
